What Libby could have gotten with her $1.5 million instead of a huge box to hold stale donuts

“The C-X75 is absolutely at the forefront of technology, it's as good as you can get right now,” said Tata Chief Executive Officer Carl-Peter Forster at a London press conference.

The magazine TechLand tells us that a new hybrid Jaguar costs $1.5 million -- on the low end of information I've gotten on the cost of Libby [Chief Exasperating Officer of Loaf & Fish] 's new toy, the so-called Welcoming Center at Loaf & Fish.

The vehicle can go from 0 to 60 in under three seconds.  And, we're told, it will go 200mph "on flats."  No information was available on how fast it could go in high heels.

Consider that in contrast to Libby's Welcoming Center which doesn't move at all.

Also, whereas the Jaguar is as cute as a sea bass, Libby's big box is as ugly as any of the other over-priced buildings in the L&F jumble-of-boxes Compound/Mall/Maul.  [I'm told the Wash House cost about $300,000.  How can that be!?]

If you're vain and stupid enough to buy a freaking toy with money that donors gave to help the freaking homeless, a Jaguar is better that a humongous freaking box! I mean, Jesus, Libby. Isn't it obvious?
The ugly-as-hell Taj McLibby.  Except that there aren't any really cool slides in a children's playground, it looks just like a deluxe place to buy fast food -- or maybe because of the round green logo, the spot to buy a Vanilla Bean Frappaccino.
There should have been a vote of the homeless while so many of us were outside this past winter freezing our buns on the cold pavement. What pure-vanity project would you want the stupid organization, Loaf & Fish, to throw money away on? (A) Box (B) Cool Car. It's just a guess on my part, but for some reason I think we homeless would have VOTED OVERWHELMINGLY FOR THE COOL CAR. You think!?

Update: Word from "the street" is that the Sac homeless overwhelmingly would have prefered the cool car, even as they know they would never have gotten a chance to drive it or ride shotgun.

I'd take the cool car, myself. The "good" sister could have utilized it to do something really useful like transport people to job interviews and doctor's appointments.

Word from the street is that the car wins easily, but with that the guys had no expectation of ever riding in it.

Russell is using this blog as a reference in an effort to scam homeless people.  Be aware that Mr. Russell and his business is cited as a possible perpetrator of fraud by a website called Ripoff Report .  See this webpage .  Also, there is this claim of fraud against Ron Russell Properties at the website BizClaims - Latest scams, frauds and complaints . Schwarzenegger calls for SSI cutbacks

An article in the Feb. 5 issue of Sacramento Business Journal , " State ponders budget cuts for low-income seniors, disabled ," tells us that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing cutbacks in Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) that "help low-income seniors and people with disabilities meet basic living expenses." The cutbacks and other reductions that Schwarzenegger seeks in SSI would impact many people in the Sacramento homeless community. Quoting the SBJ article, The governor has proposed cutting the grants to the minimum level required by federal law, starting May 1, and to suspend the June 2010 state cost-of-living adjustment.
