The answer they give is a definitive "YES!" The more the local politicians delay & delay & delay, the more lives are wasted!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13718601770472939313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2108272364747244016.post-65718966072441373312016-07-03T12:21:38.086-07:002016-07-03T12:21:38.086-07:00Most homeless people in Sacramento may drink and u...Most homeless people in Sacramento may drink and use drugs frequently, but not at a level to become PHYSICALLY addicted. They imbibe too much, no doubt, such they damage their brain and body, but ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD GET HOUSING QUICKLY, if they've been homeless for more than a year. Unhappily, Sacramento is slow with bureaucrats who are uneducated on all this. This is a great tragedy. The city and county should be helping people at a much faster pace. Instead, the City sold its soul to a billionaire with a basketball team. Experts in all this NOW KNOW that "getting a life" is what stops substance abuse. HOUSING should come FIRST. People who are physically addicted to drink and/or drugs need medical help first before being given housing. Sac county and city continues to operate under the principle of "Warehousing the Rabble." They want to expand shelters to "hide" homeless people as much as they can. In addition, Loaves & Fishes is moving its Friendship Park away from 12th Street as a means of making homeless people out-of-view. Disgusting, IMHO.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13718601770472939313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2108272364747244016.post-70427243456870930532016-06-22T07:25:15.876-07:002016-06-22T07:25:15.876-07:00I'm glad I found this blogpost. I think it makes and reinforces the excellent point that even if one doesn't see a moral imperative in providing housing to everyone who wants it, from a practical standpoint, it's much more cost effective to do it than not to.

I hope the kinds of programs mentioned here can expand throughout the country and elsewhere.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02549770321948541384noreply@blogger.com
